Our History

Nine years ago Sally Mule' realized there must be a better way to be
single in Nashville. Then the choices seemed limited to blind dates, the
bar scene & personal ads.

So she started Active Singles based on the concept that you don't have
to be single all by yourself. Why not plan activities where singles can
meet & have fun without all the pressure that goes along with
traditional singles events?

Since then she's seen 100's of members enjoy thousands of activities
all in the company of friends. Many lasting friendships have formed &
there have been 10 marriages in 9 years!

We believe this is what makes us different. There is no pressure from
the time you ask about joining Active Singles to the time you are a
member enjoying our activities.

Our Members

Our members are professionals such as accountants, business owners,
computer programmers, lawyers & judges. We have massage
therapists, pet sitters, psychologists, & school teachers who lead busy
lives but don't have the time to plan a social calendar.
They range in age from 26 to 70 with the majority of our members
being 35-55 years old.

club while maintaining the highest level of integrity & personal service.
We are dedicated to providing a safe, comfortable & caring
environment for single people to build lasting relationships.

Our Events

We strive to put together a calendar with
a variety of activities so you'll find something fun to do every week
that will fit into your busy schedule.

Every Thursday our group enjoys dinner together at a different
restaurant. You'll find music, dancing, theatre, festivals & discussion
groups on our calendars. If it's fun, it's in!

When the weather's nice, we hike, go horseback riding, picnic or rent a
pontoon boat at the lake. When it's cold outside, we'll have fun cosmic
bowling or playing poker at a member's house.

For the Fourth of July we cookout, enjoy the hot tub, hike & shop while
staying at a Gatlinburg condo. We're partnering with several other
singles/activities groups around the country & Canada to go to New
Orleans, New York & Europe next year.

Of course, holidays are especially festive with friends. We have an
annual Halloween Costume Party & last year we celebrated Christmas
with a Limo Lights Tour. We ring in the New Year with plenty of
dancing & a Champagne toast.

Sally's Bio

Meet Sally
Her vivacious personality & cheery voice belie the challenges Sally Mule' encountered after opening Active Singles of Nashville in 1995.

Six months after opening the business, her husband of 33 years died. She questioned whether she should give up or keep going. The singles of Nashville familiar with the group are glad she didn't throw in the towel. Because she didn't, many lasting friendships have formed & 10 marriages have resulted!

But everyone isn't looking for marriage; they want a safe, comfortable outlet, where there is no pressure & everyone can be themselves. The events include theatre, dancing, dinner, parties, bowling & bingo.

"The bar scene is not for everyone, and unfortunately churches aren't filling this niche," says Sally, who moved from Connecticut where she & her husband worked with singles.

Sally also enjoys volunteering with the group for charities such as Cystic Fibrosis and Hands on Nashville. Active Singles recently co-sponsored an art auction with the Nashville Zookeepers benefiting the Elephant Foundation.

Active Singles members certainly aren't couch potatoes, everyone is screened, and 99 percent are college educated, professional people, says Sally, adding, "At this point in our lives we want to reach up, not down."

"There is life out there for single people, who are often lonely," says this mother of four, grandmother to eight whose home has always been filled with friends & family. "We give them a choice, and a place to meet other quality single people."
