What types of people join Active Singles?
Basically, our members are professional people who are just too busy to schedule events on their own. We have members who are newly divorced, never married & widowed. Some are new in town & others have lived here all their life. All are looking for a safe, comfortable & fun way to meet quality singles.

What is the age range?
Broadly, we have members 26 to 72. But the majority of our members fall into the age range of 35-55. And we're all young at heart!

Is this a dating service?
We are an activities club for singles. We do not pair up our members but rather let them do the picking and choosing on their own terms & time frame. You're the expert - you should do the choosing!

We have members who are looking for partners & those who are completely content with remaining single. You choose activities that are fun to you & while enjoying yourself you get to know other members. Much better than being set up on a boring blind date!

Why is Active Singles better than a Dating Service?
First & foremost, we take away the pressure & hassle associated with dating & dating services. You won't find a high-pressure sales person at Active Singles. We attend each event with you so we want you to be happy! We don't dangle empty promises of dates to lure you into joining. We know meeting the old fashioned way, face-to-face, works. Many of our members form lasting relationships, including friendships, roommates & marriages.

I could do a lot of the activities on my own. So why should I join Active Singles?
Isn't it more fun to do things with friends? Each event you attend you'll see friends you've made from past events & meet new members. There are parties at member's houses & travel that you might not try on your own. It's just more fun to have someone with whom to discuss a movie after you've seen it or enjoy good conversation over dinner.

Are there more women than men?
Yes, we generally reflect the single population of adults over 35. No matter what the singles organization is, the fact is there are 10 million more women than men over 35. Ouch! We're happy to say our ratio fluctuates around 60% women, 40% men. There's always a dancing partner!

Once I join, what happens?
A representative will call you to confirm your membership & answer any questions you may have. You'll discuss the upcoming events & arrange to meet at the first event you choose to attend. We'll send you your calendar & put you on the weekly email list. It's simple & easy.

Once I'm a member, how do I find out about the club's activities?
When you sign up, you'll be sent the current club calendar & put on the mailing list for future calendars. A representative will contact you & discuss the upcoming events you'd like to attend. At your first event, you'll meet that person who'll make introductions & you'll be on your way to making new friends!

You'll also receive our weekly email with updates on that week's events & some fun tidbits about the previous week's activities. In addition, you'll be able to log online & look at our calendar.

How do I sign up for the events?
In the calendar you receive, there's a sign-up sheet. We ask that you complete this form when you receive your calendar & either fax it, mail it or give it to us at the first event you attend that month. You may also RSVP via email.

Do I have to pay to attend each event?
Yes, each individual pays for his/her own dinner, theatre ticket or cost of the event. We schedule events in all price ranges, from free house parties & wine tastings to travel packages. Being part of a group, you'll enjoy the benefits of our discounts.

May I bring a guest to an event?
Yes. Members are allowed to bring a guest three times before we ask that they make a decision to join. We also ask that you RSVP for your guest as well as yourself.

I'm shy in social settings & I'm worried I won't fit in.
Before you come to your first event, you'll talk with a representative who'll get to know you. Then at your first event, she'll introduce you to the other members & make sure you're comfortable. Since you are attending an activity that you enjoy anyway, it instantly gives you something in common to talk about with the others.
